The MakerLodge will train approximately 1,000 – 1,500 students per year on introductory maker technology including 3D printers, laser cutters, handtools and more. We have designed the program to solve the campus wide training problem with input and support from wide range of people at MIT. The program launched on September 12, 2016 and is open to all freshman (Class of 2020) at MIT. After completing the MakerLodge training, freshman will receive MakerBucks and be eligible to join over 10 existing makerspace communities.
